I thought the Vue was a common car, but it appears the Fusion is taking that to a whole new level. I counted 4 of them just in the very, very short distance to Little Caesars. But, mine was the only one with the 2.0L turbo. :]

Every time I drive it I love it even more. I just blows anything else I've ever driven away.

I will say, I'm not a fan of how common it is. Driving something unique appeals to me more. But when it looks so good, I can't complain about seeing them everywhere.

Also, sorry if I've been posting a lot about what's really just a common sedan, but it's so new and I just really, really like it.

The midsized segment is the hottest selling segment. The Fusion is the best midsized car IMO so it makes sense to see the best car of the best selling segment around all the time. Better get used to it if you wanted unique you got the wrong car.

Same thing happened to me. When my mom bought a 2012 Focus, the damn things popped up everywhere. We traded it in for a 2014 Passat this summer. I didn't really see them that much before, but guess what. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.

Those were also made for like what, 25 years looking basically the same? The Fusion as it is has only been out for a 2-ish years.

I don't imagine a lot of them. Most rental cars around here are Captivas. Hell, we got a Buick Verano as a loaner today while the car was a the dealer.

It's smaller, and better than the Equinox. I see a ton of people driving used Captivas over new Equinoxes. Know a few as well.

Had one as a rental. Probably the 1.6 EcoBoost. It was alright. Comfy ride, competent enough handling, roomy and mostly high-quality interior. The plastic dash top looked really cheap, the process to pair my phone up to the stereo was far too complicated, and I didn't like the seats because I couldn't flatten out the angle of the bottom seat cushion. It was always too high in front in relation to the back which prevented me from getting fully comfortable.

I made a couple 3-hour drives in the car and the seats were just far enough off from being how I wanted to adjust them that it was persistently annoying. While a nice enough car, the seats would probably be a dealbreaker.

So if I were buying a mainstream 4-cylinder midsize sedan it would probably be an Accord EX-L, or Legacy 2.5i Premium. But I'm just not a mainstream 4-cylinder midsize sedan kind of guy.

Yes, they are everywhere. I always thought the blue ones were kind of unusual ... Nope, they're all over the place. I don't know how anybody who owns a silver or a white one ever finds their car in a parking lot.

I thought the phone pairing was actually pretty simple. But, I have nothing to compare MyFordTouch/Sync to.

Did it have electric seats? Because I can adjust ours to make it almost feel like the front is lower than the back.

My mom's friend has a black Malibu LS, so it's pretty common. A couple times when my mom and her have come out of the gym, they've walked up to the wrong car. I hope to never be guilty of doing that.

It's pretty easy to do. Luckily the 18" wheels I had were enough of a differentiator for me to never actually do it.

Glad you're enjoying it! Got one myself last year (2.0L EcoBoost), and I'm really enjoying it as a DD. Everybody's different, but this car just fits me.

And Sync has plenty of faults, but the Bluetooth has worked extremely well with my iPhone.

Yup, it had power seats. The problem was, the front seat bottom height adjuster moves the front of the seat bottom up or down, but the rear seat bottom height adjuster moves the whole seat as one without changing the angle of the seat bottom. So with the front seat bottom height adjuster at its lowest setting, I wanted to raise the back seat bottom adjuster to make a flatter angle, but that just raises the whole seat without making the bottom any flatter.

I actually had the same issue in my old Mazdaspeed 6, which has a variation of the same platform. I had that car for 5 years and never really liked the seats.

The Captiva is a fleet-only vehicle. Basically after GM killed Saturn, they took the Saturn VUE and rebadged it as the Captiva to sell to rental fleets, mostly to protect Chevy Equinox resale values. It rides on a shorter-wheelbase version of the Theta platform that's under the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain.

Yeah, I've been seeing a good amount of Fusions (Fusii?) on the road as of late. Not to many with the Ecoboost though.

What a great engine they are. The big Ecoboost in the F-150 is nuts. If I daily drove one of them I'd probably have a revoked license and get 5mpg.
